El Toro!

My husband is a twin and thus he loves a competition. We were invited to an engagement party where you had to make a specialty drink and the winners drink is going to be served at the wedding. Cute huh? When my hubby saw the invite it was game on!

Rewind….The two of us spent Memorial Day weekend in Vegas at the Bellagio (one of my fav hotels) and they had this drink called Toro!

It is basically a Vodka Mojito with a splash of Red Bull! It was so yummy…so this is where we stole our inspiration from!  Making with vodka instead of rum makes the drink less sweet and lighter πŸ˜‰ Perfect fresh summer cocktail.

Side Note!  WE WON πŸ˜‰

Here’s the recipe..

2 1/2 oz Vodka
3 Fresh Mint Sprigs
2 tbsp Sugar (I used Raw Cane Sugar)
2 tbsp Fresh Lime Juice
Soda Water
Splash of Red Bull

  1. Muddle the mint, sugar and lime juice in a glass filled with ice
  2. In a martini shaker, shake the vodka and soda water up and pour on top on ice
  3. Splash the Red Bull on top

I love mojitos but hate vodka so I'm curious! I'll have to try it sometime πŸ™‚

Sounds very refreshing! I think I would omit the red bull though. Did it really make the difference…hummm I'll try. I really enjoy lime during the summer hot days. And Oh! since its for a wedding..lime ice balls would be great in this. Freeze lime juice in small round trays. I found one at the grocer's so I think they are easy to find. see you soon….susie
